January 1st we were invited to our upstairs neighbors’ third annual “New Year’s Mandoo Making Party” – they’re half Korean as well. The kids are quite professional and determined little mandoo makers already and we had a real feast … rounded out with many side dishes and 떡국, the rice cake soup served at the Korean (Lunar) New Year.

Nice! I regretted i didn’t bring my mandoo maker from NY.. well, i guess our square mandoopee(dough) wouldn’t have worked anyways :P

You know what? I now prefer to crimp them by hand … it doesn’t take long at all (anymore) and the edge holds tighter. For the kids however, the little presses are so much fun to use!
If you want a few for you and your family, i’ll try to remember it the next time we send something.
