So Long, Farewell…

August 31st, 2010 by ninja

Even the longest Summer vacations have to come to an end. This year the kids have bonded even more with Omi and Opa, and the good-byes weren’t easy on them. Especially Mika started to miss Opa Addi, Omi Hiltraud, and Omi Hilde right away.

There was one upside though: finally getting back together with Luna, who was delighted to have her entire family back home. Note: i will try to post a few more German entries in the next days, along with current updates. Check back in time to catch them…

Ninja, I’ve so enjoyed staying up to date via your blog while the family was in Germany. These farewell pictures really touched my heart. I know your parents treasured every minute with them. We are so spoiled being able to see our grandkids every week, and believe me, we know it. Welcome Home

goodbyes are so hard with grandparents! my mom and dad couldn’t even bear to go to the airport this round. my dad started complaining of an empty house the night after our departure.

My parents said the same thing – it was eerie to return to a quiet house, especially with all the little play corners still out in the open. Also, two kids are more lively than having just one grandchild visiting like in the old days…
