Xmas Countdown

December 12th, 2010 by ninja

With less than 2 weeks to go, we have kicked our Holiday activities into high gear this weekend: we got our tree, set it up, and decorated it. The kids made some new ornaments, built a gingerbread house, and finally got to meet Santa. When asked what they wanted for Xmas, they whispered something about “pretend dog food/pretend cat food“, which left the good man puzzled … but it’s really what they set their hearts on most recently.

At least it is a modest wish that can be arranged – not a pony.

The range of toys these days is crazy, last christmas I was offered a (pretend) dog grooming parlour for audrey!!&^&*!
One day they will tell their grandchildren ‘in my day I got pretend dog food for christmas’….

Our favorite Santa in town. To this day Chloe thinks this one is the real one. I kind of think so too.

Jen – we chose him because your girls are such firm believers! I still remember Chloe being a tiny toddler, when that tradition started.
This guy really looks like THE quintessential Santa – complete with rosy cheeks, knobby nose, and a real(?) beard. Amazing how he manages to smile with his eyes throughout every encounter. A true professional … or the real Santa? ;-)

What’s the next best Santa? We saw he’s closed shop at ABC for the rest of the year so contemplating whether we wait till next year for nara or see if the white bearded man doesn’t freak her out this year.

Euge – follow the text link (“Santa”) in the post to a complete list of NY Santas. I didn’t check the dates, but Macy’s is supposed to be “the classic Santa”. Good luck!
