Lil’ Tree Hugger

October 12th, 2008 by ninja

Tobin’s second-favorite German word these days is “Baum” (tree). Most of the time, he drops the last letter but some times he gets it right.

Today, he got to experience more than the usual drive-by pointing in our neighborhood: we went to play at Central Park with lots of trees to look at (and conquer).

Hey, Karls first word was ‘Baum’ as well! Just like Tobin he doesn’t always get it right though… Are they all little treehuggers?

I think so … to some extent: Mika loves to be outdoors, particularly in my parents’ garden. But Tobin is more extreme at this young age: he gets *really* excited by every flower and tree we pass. Today, he laughed out loud when he saw some ivy growing through a closed steel gate, and started bawling when we left the big lawn at Madison Square Park. In comparison, he didn’t cry when i took him off the swing.
