He just recently started exploring animal voices, but already cracks up if i ask him whether &#8216;the cat says woof-woof?&#8217; or other simple jokes. I like this phase of pre-talking &#8230; when they assign words to objects\/people without being able to actually pronounce them yet.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s his ACTIVE &#8216;vocabulary&#8217; so far (<em><strong>Tobin<\/strong> <\/em>\/<em> German<\/em> \/ English):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daddyyyyyyy<\/strong> \/ &#8211; \/ Daddy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ma-Ma<\/strong> \/ Mami \/ &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Na<\/strong> \/ Luna (this applies to any cat)<\/p>\n<p><strong>wff-wff<\/strong> \/ <em>Hund<\/em> \/ dog (woof-woof)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Nein<\/em> <\/strong>\/ <em>Nein<\/em> \/ no<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ba&#8217;<\/em> <\/strong>\/ <em>Ball<\/em> \/ ball<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ba&#8217;<\/em> <\/strong>\/ <em>Banane <\/em>\/ banana<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bau&#8217; <\/strong>\/ Baum<\/em> \/ tree<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Lgch<\/strong> \/ Licht<\/em> \/ light<\/p>\n<p><strong>(ah) done! <\/strong>\/<em> fertig!<\/em> \/ (all) done!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Nas&#8217;<\/em> <\/strong>\/ <em>Nase<\/em> \/ nose<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Mmmm&#8217;<\/em> <\/strong>\/ <em>Mund<\/em> \/ mouth<\/p>\n<p>However, his PASSIVE vocabulary must be much further ahead. Here are some examples of what i could ask him to do\/respond to (We talk in German, but i write it down in English for this blog. Most of it he understands in English as well):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is Mika\/Luna\/Daddy?<\/strong> (points)\u00a0 <strong>Where is Tobin?<\/strong> (hides)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is your nose? Mouth? Eyes? Ears? Belly Button?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please put it back in the box and close the lid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arms up!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Get up.\u00a0\u00a0 Walk. \u00a0 Sit down.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you tired? <\/strong>(If yes, he leans\/crashes his head onto my shoulder)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you need to poop?<\/strong> (grunts)<strong> Did you pee?<\/strong> (reaches down to his diaper)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Go to the living room and get an orange. Bring it over so that i can peel it for you <\/strong>(this being said in the kitchen, with no view of the fruit bowl)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please close the door<\/strong> (this was when i was taking a shower and he had opened the door to squeeze into the bathroom as well, so it was getting cold.
