creations of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmcitycakes.com\/gallery\" target=\"_blank\">Charm City Cakes<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bcakeny\/3990180536\/\" target=\"_blank\">BCakeNY<\/a>, i always wanted to make an edible &#8220;theme cake&#8221; on my own. Just in time for Tobin&#8217;s birthday, i came across the perfect inspiration on the blog of a Vancouver based cupcake business, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cococake.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Coco Cake<\/a>: Eric Carle&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Very-Hungry-Caterpillar-Giant-hardcover\/dp\/039925045X\/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpi_1\" target=\"_blank\">Very Hungry Caterpillar<\/a>, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/cococakecupcakes.blogspot.com\/2009\/03\/hungry-caterpillar-cupcake-party-train.html\" target=\"_blank\">turned into a cupcake party train<\/a>!<\/em> (It&#8217;s still one of Tobin&#8217;s favorite books).<\/p>\n<p>The things i&#8217;ve learned: it&#8217;s as much fun as i have suspected, a lot more work than i had thought, and &#8230; i really don&#8217;t care about buttercream.
